Heroes of Change Draws to a Close

Next week Friday, the grand finale of the first season of MTN Heroes of Change will come off at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

An initiative of the MTN Ghana Foundation, the show aims to highlight the work of ordinary Ghanaians who are helping in their own small way to effect changes in their respective communities.

Hosted by Kwami Sefa Kayi, the programme that started airing on five stations from Sunday, January 26. The ultimate ‘Hero of Change’ will walk away with GH¢50,000 to continue what he or she has started.

Also, an amount of GH¢10,000 will go to support each category winner. The categories include community crusader, social protection, health, environment and education.

Meanwhile in the tenth episode this weekend, Richard Yinkah contributes to the development of communities by helping to raise funds to solve whatever problems the community has.

He has mainly been working in the field of education where he has contributed to the building and renovating of over 15 schools across the Volta and Eastern regions. He has also contributed to providing sanitation facilities for schools.

Also Dr. Kwame Abrokwaa-Yankyira is one of only eight plastic surgeons in Ghana. Through his Gaft Foundation, he performs free plastic surgery for people in rural areas and those who cannot afford it. The Graft Foundation has over the past year performed free surgery in the three northern regions, and Central and Western regions.
