The 4th edition of the annual Ghana Movie Awards took place as scheduled and some of Ghana and West Africa’s filmmakers were honoured for their respective roles in ensuring a better movie industry during the year under review.
Among the honourees included Leila Djansi’s movie “A Northern Affair” which won in the categories of “Best Picture”, “Best Editing”, “Best Cinematography”, “Best Original Song” etc. Others included House of Gold and TV series “Heartbreak Hotel”. Among the individuals who received honours were John Dumelo, Prince David Anang, Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win, Jackie Appiah and Yvonne Nelson.

Best Original Music Score = House of Gold – music and lyrics by Berni Anti and Mercy Chinwo
Best Original Song = A Northern Affair

Best Editing = Dave Goldberg (A Northern Affair)
Best Sound Mixing and Editing = Shaun Burdick (A Northern Affair)
Best Costume and Wardrobe = George Attobrah (Okomfo Anokye)
Best Makeup and Hair Stylist = Jude Odeh (Barima Nye Sumye)
Best TV Series = Heartbreak Hotel
Best Short Movie = Galamsey
Best Actor – African Collaboration = Francis Odega (House of Gold) and Hlomla Dandala (Contract)
Best Actress – African Collaboration = Patience Ozorkwor (Slave Boy)
Best Actor in Leading Role = John Dumelo (A Northern Affair)
Best Actress in Leading Role = Jackie Appiah (Cheaters)
Best Actor in Supporting Role = Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win (Time Changes)
Best Actress in Supporting Role = Joselyn Dumas (A Northern Affair)
Music – Original Song = A Northern Affair – music and lyrics by Jon Germain and Kofi Akyeame
Writing – Adapted or Original Screenplay = Contract – written by Herty Owusu and Shirley Frimpong-Manso
Best Production Design = The Pledge – designed by D.J. Vegas and set decoration by Ghana Armed Forces
